What is black rice?
Black rice, sometimes called forbidden rice or venus rice, is a type of rice high in the pigment anthocyanin, which gives it its colour. Black rice is sold as a whole grain as it's the outermost layer of bran that has the black colour. It has a sweet, nutty flavour, and is famously paired with seafood.
