What is nutritional yeast?
Nutritional yeast is deactivated yeast left over from beer-making. It comes in the form of flakes and has a strong nutty, cheesy character, which makes it a great parmesan substitute in vegan cooking.
Where to buy nutritional yeast
Find pots of nutritional yeast alongside stock cubes, seasonings and oil in most larger supermarkets, or buy online to never be without a handy tub:
Seitan is a fantastic vegan meat alternative, made using vital wheat gluten. Quick to make, it can be used in a variety of dishes, such as stir-fries and curries.
