Tinned fish, hot honey, pistachio, the list of food trends seems to go on and on. But we've seen a growing interest in how trending colours interact with our homes and in particular our kitchens.

This year colour experts Pantone announced its Colour of the Year as Mocha Mousse, a warming brown hue with a deep richness. Describing the colour, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Colour Institute says: 'PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic.'

We're seeing this hue everywhere in our favourite kitchens. If you want to embrace the trend in your home by adding a touch of Mocha Mousse into your kitchen, or just want some inspiration, read on for our favourite picks.

If you're a baking enthusiast a KitchenAid mixer has probably been on your wishlist since the first episode of The Great British Bake Off aired. One of the things we love most about the brand's mixers are the broad set of colours on offer, including the eye-catching 2025 Colour of the Year Butter, which makes them a great way of embracing trends in your kitchen.

While Fresh Linen might not be a deep chocolatey brown, it is a complementary colour within the palette making it brilliant if you want to embrace this latest trend in a more pared-back way.

KitchenAid (£381.65)
Amazon (£489)

Colour trends tend to change throughout the years and seasons, depending on a huge number of factors. Whether it's the dark forest green of last autumn or the bright dopamine décor shades of this spring, kitchen trends can be more than just a colour.

This year we have seen a massive surge in the number of limited edition products in a rich, chocolate brown hue.
