This rich and creamy hot chocolate comes with zingy notes of orange and intensity from dark chocolate. Add an extra layer of luxury if you like with a tot of spiced rum

- 300ml whole milk
- 1 orangezested
- 100g dark chocolatechopped
- 75ml single cream
- 2 shots (optional) spiced rum
Method
step 1
Gently heat the milk and orange zest in a pan until simmering. Take off the heat and leave to infuse for 5 minutes before straining out the zest.

Add the chocolate and leave for 2 minutes before stirring until melted and combined.
step 3
Stir in the cream. Return to the heat to warm through, if needed, then pour into mugs and with the rum, if using.
